Welcome from the Director of Housing and Residence Life

It is with great pride and anticipation that I welcome you to South Georgia Institute and to our campus residential community. At SGI, we understand that choosing where to live is one of the most important decisions you will make during your college experience. The Office of Housing and Residence Life is dedicated to providing you with a living environment that upholds the highest standards of safety, support, and personal development.

Our mission is to cultivate a residential experience that not only complements your academic pursuits but also fosters your growth as an engaged and responsible member of the community. We believe that residence life plays a vital role in your journey, offering opportunities to build meaningful relationships, develop leadership skills, and experience the richness of a diverse and inclusive campus culture.

The policies, services, and programs outlined in this manual have been thoughtfully designed to support your success. We will work in close partnership with campus security, and the Norman Park Police Department, student services, and other institutional departments to ensure that your living experience is secure, enriching, and conducive to academic excellence.

As Director of Housing and Residence Life, I encourage you to fully engage with the opportunities available to you here. Participate in residence hall events, take advantage of the resources provided, and seek out the guidance of our dedicated housing staff, who are committed to your well-being and success.

Please remember that our office maintains an open-door policy. Should you have any questions, concerns, or require assistance, we stand ready to support you. We are honored to be a part of your educational journey and look forward to helping you make the most of your experience at South Georgia Institute.
Welcome to our community. I wish you a successful, fulfilling, and memorable year ahead.
