South Georgia Institute Health and Medical Insurance Policy

Policy Statement

To ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all enrolled students, South Georgia Institute (SGI) requires every student to maintain valid health and medical insurance coverage throughout their enrollment. Proof of insurance must be submitted prior to the official report date each semester.

Proof of Insurance Requirement

Students must provide documentation verifying active health and medical insurance coverage.
Documentation must include the student’s name, the insurance provider, and effective dates of coverage.
Proof must be submitted to the SGI Office of Admissions and/or Athletic Department before the report date.

Students Without Insurance

Students who do not have active health and medical insurance are required to contact the Athletic Director immediately. Guidance will be provided on how to obtain coverage before participation in any academic, or athletic activities.

Compliance

Students who fail to provide proof of insurance or secure coverage will not be permitted to report, participate in team activities, until the requirement is met.
This policy applies to all students, including student-athletes, and commuters.
